DJI and Amflow accelerate in the e-MTB market

In a short time, Amflow has established itself as one of the leading brands in the high-end electric mountain bike market. The launch of the first models equipped with the DJI Avinox M1 motor immediately drew attention thanks to a rare combination: plenty of power, modern integration and a very natural feel on the trail.

Demand for DJI technology quickly increased, to the point of challenging established brands such as Bosch and Shimano. Amflow did not wait long to build on this success with a new generation of motors, this time available in two distinct versions and launched alongside four new e-MTB models.

Amflow M2 and Amflow M2S: a very simple split

The structure of the range is actually very clear.

• Amflow PR: Amflow M2 motor
• Amflow PR Pro: Amflow M2S motor
• Amflow PX: Amflow M2S motor
• Amflow PX Pro: Amflow M2S motor

In other words, the Amflow PR is the only model fitted with the Amflow M2 motor. Every other bike in the range uses the Amflow M2S motor, the most powerful version. The Amflow M2 motor delivers 115 Nm and 1100 W peak power, while the Amflow M2S motor reaches up to 130 Nm (150 Nm in boost mode) and 1300 W peak power (1500 W in boost mode). The weight of the motors has not been disclosed.

Amflow PX: integrated battery, M2S motor and performance focus

The Amflow PX sits in the sportiest branch of the range. It is equipped with a new exclusive 700 Wh battery and comes directly with the Amflow M2S motor. This is clearly a performance-oriented bike, with cleaner integration and a philosophy very close to a modern high-end e-MTB.

The Amflow PX also keeps the current tracking system through a SIM card inserted into the bike. The PX platform focuses on light weight, agility, a silhouette closer to a non-assisted mountain bike and a very natural ride feel, even with the motor switched off.

Amflow PX Pro: the most exclusive model in the range

The Amflow PX Pro is the most premium model of this new generation. It also uses the Amflow M2S motor, but what really sets it apart is its exclusive 700 Wh battery, slimmer, lighter and built with new higher-density cells. The goal is clear: gain sleekness and save weight without sacrificing too much range. This 700 Wh battery still offers a range close to the current 800 Wh batteries.

The frame of the Amflow PX Pro is the most exclusive of the three announced frames. It is slimmer, better finished, reserved for the PX Pro and the only one compatible with this specific 700 Wh battery. Its claimed frame weight is 2.4 kg, and the bike is announced at around 20 kg. In reality, we weighed it at 21.2 kg, checked in store; still a very respectable weight considering the more gravity-oriented changes it brings. The more powerful brakes than the MT7 and the Gravity-casing Radial tyres clearly make a difference. That explains its strong positioning, with a visual appearance and ride feel even closer to a non-assisted bike.

The Amflow PX Pro also stands out with several premium advantages: 1 extra year of warranty, SIM card included for 5 years and 50% crash replacement on one frame and one wheelset. It also gets a more exclusive build, with carbon wheels, XO T-Type drivetrain and radial tyres with reinforced casing.

What changes on the all-new Amflow PX Carbon Pro (2026) compared with the Amflow PL Carbon Pro (2025)?

In this year full of new developments for Amflow, the PX Carbon Pro clearly stands out as the top model in the range. More exclusive than the former Pro model, still available at a discount while stocks last, it brings genuine added value for bigger budgets with a premium treatment reserved for riders choosing the flagship of these 4 new models.

Let’s take a closer look at what sets the PL Carbon Pro apart from the new PX Carbon Pro — and the list is a long one:

• First of all, there is the new M2S motor presented above. It is designed to be more compact, more lightweight and above all more powerful than its predecessor, which is no small achievement when competitors are only just starting to match the performance of the Avinox M1 version.
   
• Next comes a new 700 Wh battery, more compact, lighter and even better integrated, with higher cell density promising almost identical range to the current 800 Wh battery used on the PL models.
   
• To match this increase in power, Amflow now dares to go with a 38-tooth chainring using a SRAM Eagle T-Type setup, here offered without a spider as seen on previous versions.
   
• Another major new feature is the arrival of geometry customisation, with no fewer than 40 possible configurations. From the angleset (+0.5°, +1°), to the 4 available positions on the shock linkage, plus Mullet or 29 compatibility and a wheelbase adjustable across 4 positions as well, the DNA of the PX Pro is clearly different from what we were used to with Amflow.
   
• Gone is the Trunnion shock mount; the PX and PR now move to 210 x 55 mm while still offering 150 mm of rear travel.
   
• Also found on both PX models is a very useful accessory for safety and for night ride enthusiasts: the Avinox light and its mount, controlled from the handlebar and connected through the 12V port located below the display inside the frame, are supplied as standard. The integration is very well thought out, easy to access and easy to remove.
   
• Other nice details include the stock Fox mudguard and an Amflow-branded bottle cage, both supplied with the PX Pro.
   
• One detail that did not escape our attention: the saddle is now Amflow branded, while remaining an identical reproduction of the Ergon saddle supplied on the PL Pro. The same applies to the seatpost: goodbye Fox Transfer Factory models, replaced by an OEM dropper post that appears to be of very good quality and offers 200 mm of travel in size M. In our view, a very smart and practical choice.
   
• The charging port has also evolved, perhaps with the arrival of an official battery extender later this year in mind? One to watch...
   
• The stem has also changed. It is now beefier, with 4 bolts, bringing a more reassuring and robust look to the cockpit, while subtly integrating the lighting mount, which can also serve as an action camera mount. Simple, clean, versatile and practical — a clever idea.
   
• The Amflow carbon handlebar gains more rise, now reaching 30 mm, the same rise already seen on the standard PL Carbon.
   
• The wheels are different too. Still carbon and now reserved for the PX Pro, they feature a new profile, a mullet setup and a stronger overall feel. This is paired with a very up-to-date tyre choice: a Magic Mary Radial extra soft in 29x2.4 at the front and an Albert Soft Radial in 27.5x2.4 at the rear, both in Gravity casing. It would be hard to imagine a better setup for such a high-end build.
   
• The highly regarded and effective Magura MT7 brakes are replaced by the new Magura Gustav Pro 4-piston brakes and their handlebar matchmakers, adding another touch of integration. This is serious braking hardware, with 203 mm rotors front and rear, 2.5 mm thick for better heat management, and the speed sensor integrated into the rotors themselves. The conclusion is clear: braking is stronger, more powerful and more consistent, perfectly aligned with the brand’s announced change in DNA.
   
• Last but not least, available only on PX Pro versions, a SIM card with a 5-year subscription is included, to be inserted into the small SIM drawer in the Avinox display. This gives access to all Avinox Ride app features without extra cost for 5 years, including bike tracking and upcoming GPS/navigation functions.

Amflow PR: the only model with the Amflow M2 motor

The Amflow PR represents the intermediate range, more accessible and more versatile. It is also the only model equipped with the Amflow M2 motor, with 115 Nm and 1100 W peak power. Its character is more balanced than that of the M2S models.

The Amflow PR uses a removable 800 Wh battery, one of the major new features of this range. This battery makes charging easier in daily use and clearly positions the PR as a more practical and broader-use model.

The bike is announced at around 22 kg and its frame weighs 2.9 kg. Visually, it is slightly bulkier than the PX models, which is explained by the integration of the removable battery. Even so, the overall design remains quite slim for this capacity level.

The Amflow PR also introduces Apple Find My compatibility. If the rider is not part of the Apple ecosystem, PR tracking is not intended to work via SIM card.

Amflow PR Pro: same base, M2S motor and a step up

The Amflow PR Pro shares the same base as the Amflow PR, with the same frame, the same removable 800 Wh battery and the same versatile positioning. The main difference is the move to the Amflow M2S motor, with up to 130 Nm and 1500 W. The Amflow PR Pro therefore stands as a more powerful, more premium and more performance-oriented version of the PR, without giving up the practicality of the removable battery.

Travel, geometry and ride character

Across the whole new range, Amflow keeps 160 mm front travel and 150 mm rear travel. The new platforms are compatible with full 29 or mullet 29 / 27.5 setups.

Geometry customisation goes even further with parts that allow changes to the linkage flip chip and the chainstay length. The idea promoted by Amflow is clear: 1 bike, 1 character. By combining settings and available parts, geometry can reach around 40 configurations.

Innovations that improve the Amflow experience

Beyond the motor and battery, Amflow adds several practical features that strengthen the appeal of the range.

Navigation improves with the import of GPX tracks through the app and the use of the display as a real navigation tool with a map background. Assistance can also adapt to the rider’s heart rate to deliver a more intelligent and natural behaviour. Motor settings become more precise, with more advanced customisation of power delivery and assistance parameters.

Battery management also evolves, with a function that avoids charging to 100% every time in order to preserve the battery over the long term. A repair mode limits power during workshop testing, reducing the risk of injury and protecting the rider’s personal settings.

The Avinox light can now be controlled from the handlebar, with two levels: a powerful mode for night trail riding and a softer mode for road sections or transfers. The range also remains compatible with a 600 Wh range extender, announced for a later release. Finally, the stated charging times are 1 h 16 from 0 to 80% on the PX Pro with the 700 Wh battery, 1 h 40 from 0 to 80% for the 800 Wh battery, and around 2 h 25 for a full charge.

The new Amflow models use components from recognised brands such as Fox, SRAM, Maxxis, Magura and Schwalbe, confirming the premium positioning of the range. The Amflow PX Pro goes even further with a more exclusive setup, notably with its carbon wheels, XO T-Type drivetrain and radial tyres.
