Contact Point Adjustment ™
We are proud to be the company that invented this option even before users knew how much they needed it. Adjusting the point of contact allows you to customize the point of the lever where the brake actually engages. This allows you to do two simple but important things: 1. You can choose the position of your fingers when your brakes hang. Thus, you can perfectly combine finger comfort and braking power without having to move the skates. 2. Balancing the two brake levers to make contact at the same point has never been easier. The adjustment of the contact point is not only a guard adjustment device (although all our levers also have one). Whether you prefer the modulation of a longer gear, the instantaneous power of a short gear, or one of the countless intermediate options, this equipment will allow you to achieve a perfect race.
TaperBore ™ Technology TaperBore ™
The term "TaperBore" refers to a unique and revolutionary system of closing patenting for our new levers Elixir and Code. It is lighter, displays a very elegant design, optimizes the leverage and especially gives you more power and control.
Deep Stroke Modulation ™
The boundary between braking suddenly and braking so abruptly that you're going to skate is minimal. An important modulation of movement allows the cyclist to manage this limit without problem and to control even the most powerful brakes all in finesse.
Power Reserve Geometry Power Reserve Geometry
At the end of the day, a brake lever multiplies the force that your hand generates (exactly like a nutcracker). Avid's Power Reserve Geometry ™ is the only way to design the physics of the lever and the comfort of your hands. This philosophy is radically different from the others on the brake market. Due to the placement of the pivot, physics shows that with other brake levers, your fingers tend to slip at the ends when you pull. Avid is different. We designed our levers with the pivot close to the hanger, closer than anyone ever dared to market. This reduces the inner stroke of the lever and creates an arc that naturally fits your fingers, allowing you to provide greater braking power. What's great is that all Avid levers have it.
Tri-Align ™ Caliper Positioning System ™ Tri-Align ™ Caliper Positioning System
Another original Avid technology makes life easier: there is no easier brake to install and adjust. With the Tri-Align ™ Caliper Positioning System, alignment of the caliper to the disc will take only a few seconds. Simply loosen the BRT screws and then press the brake lever while tightening the screws. A perfect alignment of the stirrup is as simple as that.
Top-loading PadsMounting top plates
When maintaining your bike is the only thing between you and the road, every second counts. With our pad mounting from above, the new disc brake pads can be installed without removing the wheel, without having to work under the caliper or juggling with the pads upside down; so you will be ready to leave even more quickly.
