Zipp 303 S-Series tubeless disc brake wheels carry on their heritage of early season Classics wins. The 303 line maintains a 45mm rim height ideal for all terrain, but gains in internal width to deliver superior performance and ride quality in almost any measurable situation.
The ZIPP 303 S is one of the lightest wheelsets, optimized for cutting edge aero performance with a 28mm tire but capable of accommodating gravel type tires up to 50mm wide.
To achieve this, ZIPP has created a wheel that ensures the reduction of weight, wind and rolling resistance and reduces rider fatigue.
The rim height of 45mm is the same as the previous version and the main innovation is the larger width which optimizes the profile of the tyre, allowing it to be inflated at a lower pressure and ensuring better flexibility in the pedaling.
Compared to a similar high-end wheel, this all translates to a 10% saving in energy needed to run 40km/h on the flat with a 28mm tyre, according to internal Zipp testing .
