Sunn Alberabike bike test weekend

On May 17th and 18th, we had the pleasure of hosting a stop on the SUNN Test Tour in Argelès-sur-Mer, at the Valmy trail area, just 15 minutes south of Perpignan.

Organized in collaboration with the French bicycle brand SUNN, this test weekend allowed mountain biking enthusiasts to discover and try out the brand’s flagship 2025 models in ideal conditions.

For the occasion, the SUNN team brought along a fleet of 30 test bikes (including e-MTBs and standard MTBs) and 4 staff members. They set up on a shaded private parking area. Participants were welcomed with a friendly breakfast at the Domaine des Mimosas, which we warmly thank for their impeccable hospitality.

Settingss, conseils et encadrement personnalisé

After a briefing on the day’s schedule, each tester had their bike adjusted (sag, riding position, pedals) under the SUNN setup tent. They then set off on the trails, supervised by my son Macéo and myself. The courses were marked out so testers could ride independently and try out several bikes throughout the day.

Valmy is known for its MTB trails, and we created test loops adapted to each SUNN model:

• The SUNN One and Charger, versatile and powerful electric mountain bikes for varied terrain.

• The SUNN Shaman DC, ideal for modern XC-trail, offering both excellent pedaling efficiency and confident downhill handling.

• The SUNN Radical S1, tested on more technical trails combining rough natural terrain and bikepark-style descents with big jumps.

Each route was designed to highlight the specific capabilities of the bikes available for testing.

After the morning loops, we all gathered for a lunch at Domaine des Mimosas, where everyone shared their impressions of the bikes:

• The One and Charger impressed with their comfort and control.

• The Radical stood out for its confidence and ability to tackle the roughest terrain.

• The Shaman surprised many with its modern geometry, great pedaling, and superb descending ability.

Testers also appreciated SUNN’s effort to offer high-performance bikes at a very competitive price, especially in a market where some brands raise prices without improving the components.

A big thank you to the bike shops and the 50+ riders who joined us over these two days.

It was a great initiative and a strong effort by SUNN that resulted in a few well-deserved bike sales.
